CT Citizens Lobby Legislators for Transgender Protections
Supporters of legal protections for transgender and gender non-conforming people told their personal stories in Hartford on Lobby Day, urging legislators to make CT the 14th state to add transgender protections to their state's non-discrimination laws.

It's time that Connecticut joined 13 other states who have enacted anti-discrimination laws for transgender people.


Transgender people face widespread and pervasive discrimination. They can be fired from their jobs or evicted from their homes just for being transgender, and Connecticut law needs to change that. Love Makes a Family is collaborating with the CT TransAdvocacy, CWEALF and other members of the Anti-Discrimination Coalition to pass the anti-discrimination bill in 2009.

Bishop John Selders of the UCC reflects on the progress in Connecticut and in the nation on gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender civil rights, and urges people of faith to be strong voices for inclusion and legal protections for transgender people.
